Smoothie cafe!

The heat makes you hella thirsty. Time to go to a smoothie cafe!

My friend, Phuong, took a blurry picture of the drink. So here is a clearer picture stolen from Google! It is called nước cóc (literally translated to frog water). I don’t think it is made from frogs LOL. They probably named it “water frog” because the drink is green.

After grabbing a quick drink, we went to the place that I will be volunteering at for the next few days. I will be helping the physically and mentally under-priveledged kids with a few duties that they can’t do by themselves. That includes: feeding them breakfast/lunch, pushing them on their wheelchairs, guide them in the classwork during school time, and maybe other things too.

The kids grow their own vegetables!!

The kids there grow their own vegetables!! So talented.

The nuns there don't want the kids to only learn how to beg for food, money, etc. Therefore, the nuns there teach them how to grow their own food so they can learn how to be a bit independent. Impressive!

The volunteer place also had a little cafe.

We went to Auntie Yen's house and she fed us this LOL. It looks like a bunch of bugs but no one knows what it is called. We just know that they're eggs from some insect/animal.

The translation of "Despicable Me" is totally off LOL. They call it "Ke Trom Mat Trang", which actually means "The Moon Stealer".

"3 Mein" means they have food from three different regions in Vietnam! I dined here late at night with my family and my cousin's family.

Ooooo yummy!!

Ooooo yummy!!

The food that was served was good. HOWEVER, the restaurant barely had any ingredients. They gave us a really thick menu but only few dishes were available for ordering. I think that regardless of what time customers come to dine, restaurants should always have sufficient amount of ingredients. Like seriously. Almost everything that we ordered was turned down with a, "Sorry, we don't have that right now."
