你好我的朋友 (Hello my friends)! 我在北京的 airport (I’m at Beijing’s airport). Aaaaand, that’s all the 中文 (Chinese) that I can write for now. Our flight was delayed for twenty minutes due to turbulence or some shiz. I couldn’t really decipher what the captain of our plane was saying due to his lack of fluency in English. I can’t blame him though since we’re flying with Air China again and I’m guessing the captain is of Chinese descendent.

The plane that we took. We finally landed in Beijing after 11 hours of flying!!

My adventure in the 北京 (Beijing) airport was not what I had anticipated. I thought that it would be a more relaxing experience because we wouldn’t have to go through customs and stuff again. However during the security check, it was suuuuper intense. I had to take out my iPad and 水 (water), which was a huge hassle because I didn’t have to do that back at the Vancouver airport. Oh yeah, they threw out my 水 for some reason! It was clearly less than 100 ml and the bottle was less than 1 L. I don’t know why they didn’t accept it. At least they didn’t throw out my beautiful DavidsTea thermos…which kind of contained some water :D. A security person also did a full body check-up on me which was kind of a weird experience. She used her sensor thing and scanned everywhere on my body and she was using her hands to touch around too LOL. At least she was a girl and not a guy.

So the reason why I really looked forward to going to 北京 was because I wanted to see how black their skies were. It sounds like a really strange thing to look forward but honestly, all the pictures I’ve seen of 北京 seems too photoshopped to me. So here it is! This is a non-filtered photo of the sky taken at around noon time in 北京.

I was quite surprised at how it was more in the light grey side than the dark grey side. Maybe it had to something to do with the weather or the altitude. If I were at the top of the Great Wall of China then maybe it would look differently. I don’t knowwwww.

Anyway, when I took my first waft of “fresh” 北京 air, the first thought that come to my mind was, “shiz, it’s humid here.” Then when we got into the actual airport, I was disappointed with the architecture of the building. It just kind of looked…old. Maybe I’m just having high hopes or whatever.

So we’re heeding to Korea now! Thank goodness the flight is only two hours long and there are no crying babies on board. I also have a window seat!! And that’s the best yet.
